- Great for mixed ability groups
- Largest ski area in New England
- Fabulous shopping and excursions
Seven peaks and 200 runs make Killington the largest ski area in New England and because many trails inter-link, this is an excellent choice mixed ability groups.
Killington has the most extensive snowmaking facilities in the world, 1,850 snow cannons cover the mountains in a blanket of white, should the skies fail to provide. There are six peaks at Killington and one at nearby Pico, contributing to the total area of 1,152 acres.
All the mountains have more gentle angles than one has come to expect in most ski areas. The summits are rounded, meaning that a lot of the flatter terrain is to be found up top. This is a bonus for beginners who can enjoy panoramic views on green trails at the summit of Killington Peak, accessed by the K1 -Express Gondola. Beginners and small children could all happily pootle down these runs. There are also a huge variety of intermediate trails, from wide-open cruisers to trees and bumps - you will be well entertained. The slopes are accessed with a 35min transfer on your own private yellow school bus.
